Course Rules
Course Rules are the standard operating procedures for the local area as specified in the Fixed-Wing Operating Procedures (FWOP) book. The FWOP lays out the contract on how all T-6B will operate at North Whiting Field (KNSE). Course Rules are more than just an agreement between pilots flying the T-6B, they are also an agreement between Air Traffic Control (ATC) and the pilots. They are a critical necessity in high-volume training to ensure smooth & safe operations. It is paramount that you know them and how they apply. Your initial Contact training will be heavily laden with Course Rules procedures. Like any other section of your training, it is a "fire hose" affect in the beginning; however, the more you fly and use them, the more the procedures will stick with you. You will need to continuously review them to see the intricacies you may not have gleaned before.
Below, you will find numerous files for the Course Rules at KNSE. To help you digest the large volume of procedures and knowledge, they are separated into three sections: North Whiting Field Operations, North Military Operating Area, & South Military Operating Area. As an extra, you have an additional in-depth briefing on Pensacola's airspace. The more you understand the airspace in which you operate, the easier your flights become. You can view the system slide presentation on this site or download the PowerPoint show for viewing at your convenience. Downloads of the presentation are available in PPT (Windows) and PDF (IPad) for best viewing on your individual platform.

KNSE Operations
This section deals with operation at North Whiting Field as well as departing and recovering into North Tower's airspace. Here is where you should start as this section is the most important to get down. These procedures will be used from the beginning of your training, when you are doing checklist procedures and just learning to start and taxi out to the runway.

Pensacola Airspace
This section is a detailed expansion on the airspace around Pensacola. It is relayed from an ATC viewpoint detailing sectors and specific associated frequencies. As a student, it wouldn't be bad to understand it but I wouldn't necessarily start here. As an instructor, it will be very important to understand this information to help you perform you duties more efficiently.

Google Earth View of Course Rules
You can download Google Earth for free (this will not work with Google Maps). Below is a KML file which works with Google Earth to see all the Course Rules (KNSE return only) on an interactive map. Each of the return routes is included from the North and the West. You can turn the various routes on/off as well as click on them to get a pop-up balloon with the requirements at that specific point. As I said, it is made to be interactive. See below for more details & pictures on its use.
Download the KML file here. Save it to your desktop & then click on it. It will open GE and place a "KNSE North Course Rules" folder in your Temporary Places. Expand the folder for all the routes and points.
